Week 12 - Photography Exhibition Grit & Grace

This week we have an exhibition to visit at Kuala Lumpur . This exhibition theme is Grit& Grace. This represent the aspirations of a nation that has achieved so much as a young country. '' Grit '' refers to determination , perseverance , and conviction. '' Grace'' refers to thoughtfulness., understanding and refinement. Together, Grit and Grace is an amalgamation of these noble qualities that drive and motivate us to achieve the best that we possibly can. This Grit & Grace photography project by S.C. Shekar is one of the initiatives supported by Khazanah Nasional to celebrate Malaysia’s journey and achievements as a nation.

Here are the three pictures that I feel interesting in this exhibition.

This photo shows the nice composition of the tree branches and root . I hear his explanation to this photo is he sit boat went through the river. I found out the different tone of shadow of the tree is interesting like as more nearer to us is more brighter and further is more darker. I like the root is come out from the soil and growing itself buy naturally.

This photo shows the lifestyle of the daily routine in the past. The shadows of trees reflect on the river create another the symmetrical of the tree and rocks. The water on the river ripples was very peace and nice. This photo gives me a feeling of this women is catching the fish by her two hands to earn the money. She bare her foot and step on the rocks makes me feel like more nearer to nature.

I was amaze too photographer spirit because he shoot this photo when the thunderstorm is coming. He almost dead by shooting this video due to this bad weather . This situation is torrential rain pours over a newly planted oil palm estate. I like different tone of cloud that the nature made and the parallel straight line of the paddy fields guide us to see the end of the side. There is a part of paddy field is raining and move forward .

Like what the photographer said everything need to practice as well as photography , if you did not practice you will forget how to use the function of camera . I was amaze to photographer spirit because all the photo he took that shows in exhibition is using 3 years to complete and by rent the helicopter for just shooting all these outcome.
