This week Mr. Choy is given us lecture on modernism and Mr. Charles want to check our assignment progress.

Modernism
- industrial revolution in the western world
-changes in economy , society , culture
- started in England 1750.
According to Justin Andrews (2009), modernism describes the style and theory of art that emerged from the late 1800s lasting into the mid- 20th century. Modernism , in general, includes the activities and creations of those who felt the traditional forms of art, architecture , literature , religious and activities of daily life. Modernism rejecting the mythologies ( Geek Era) and religious themes in painting . It is a new style outside the bounds of inherited tradition.
Water-Lilies

It paint on the canvas board. In the 1890s, Monet developed a Japanese-style water-garden around the pond at his home in Giverny, north-west of Paris.
Mr. Choy explanation makes me more understand on modernism this art movement. . I think that modernism is more subjective on their art, it was so challenging you need to find a subject as a symbolism to tell the hidden meaning of that.
Mr. Charles ask for our progression and give a few example of movie which related to art movement. He say if have time please search it.
